Knowing what to expect can help you get the most out of your Tarot session with me. In this post, I’ll walk you through the process step by step.

All my readings take place live on Zoom. I find the connection of a live reading to be significant and to improve the quality of the service I can provide. If you’d prefer to have your camera off during the reading, that’s okay!

Before your reading starts, I begin by preparing myself and my space for our time together. I cleanse the energy of my room and my desk with a singing bowl. Then, I spend some time grounding and centering myself and calling in my spirit guides to assist me. I ask them to help me be of service to spirit and to provide a sacred space of healing and support for you during your session.

Then, I pick out a couple of Tarot decks and one or two Oracle decks I feel drawn to use. I cleanse their energy with a tuning fork and then charge them with my intentions for your reading.

I’ll begin by asking you what you want to concentrate on during your reading. It’s great if you have a specific question in mind that you want answered. If you don’t already have a specific question, you could probably identify an area of your life that you’d like to focus on during the reading. We can narrow it down together from there.

I usually ask a few follow-up questions so I can get clear on exactly what you’re asking. This process can take some time, but it’s well worth it, because asking precise questions will yield more accurate answers from the cards. Often, a single question will actually involve multiple questions. It’s important to separate them out and ask them one at a time for greater clarity. The back-and-forth process of homing in on your question(s) and finding the best wording can be just as important as the reading that follows. Getting clear on what you want to focus on is a valuable process.

Next, I’ll begin shuffling the cards while repeating your first question out loud a few times. I usually shuffle the cards until one jumps out or until I feel the intuitive urge to stop. After I pull the cards out and lay them on my table, I’ll take some time to look at them without saying anything, allowing myself to get impressions from the visual cues on the cards. I really appreciate a quiet moment to take it all in before I interpret the reading for you.

Once I start speaking about the cards, please feel free to ask questions or chime in with anything you think is relevant. I’ll be asking you more questions as I’m interpreting as well. You’re the expert of your own life, so please correct me if I’m misinterpreting something I’m seeing in the cards. No matter how hard we try to remove our own biases as readers, we’re always reading the cards through the lens of our own lived experiences. That’s one reason I find it important to meet live, because the best readings are a co-creation between the seeker and the reader. Together, we’ll get to the heart of the issue at hand and the messages coming through during your reading.  

If you have multiple questions, I’ll repeat this process for each one as time allows.

If you have any yes or no questions, I’ll use either a pendulum or dowsing rods to answer those. I find this to be much more effective than using Tarot with these types of questions.

I usually draw some Oracle cards at the end of the reading. They often offer a last message to tie everything together and reinforce certain aspects of the reading. Many times, they also provide you with actions you can take to integrate the energy of your reading. I’ll take photos of your Oracle cards and email them to you after we’re finished so you can reflect on them in the following days.

I’ll also include the link to the recording of our Zoom meeting, if you request it. If you’d like to keep the recording of the reading, you’ll need to download it to your device. I delete recordings from the Zoom cloud after 60 days.
